Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab S2, which it is calling as ‘the most immersive Samsung tablet to-date.' The new tablet is an improved version of the last-generation Galaxy Tab S tablets, including the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5, and is available in two variants, one with 8-inch display and another with 9.7-inch screen.

The tablets will be available in a variety of connectivity, and storage options, with Wi-Fi, or Wi-Fi and LTE variants, available in 32 or 64GB options. As for their availability and pricing, the Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet will be available in global markets, starting from August, though the company has not revealed their prices.

As far as specifications go, the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 sports a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display of QXGA quality, offering 2048x1536 pixel resolution. The tablet is equipped with Samsung's Exynos 5433 chipset (quad 1.9GHz + quad 1.3GHz), paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, depending up on the variant. It also features a microSD card slot for expanding the internal storage by up to 128GB. The tablet measures 5.6mm thin and weighs in at 389g (Wi-fi) and 392g (LTE). It houses a 5,870mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, on the other hand, comes with a smaller, 8-inch Super AMOLED display offering similar resolution at 2048x1536 pixels, and is powered by the same Exynos 5433 chipset (quad 1.9GHz + quad 1.3GHz), with 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. It measures quite thin at 5.6mm and weighs in at 265g (Wi-fi) and 272g (LTE). It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

Beyond the chipset and storage space, both variants sport an 8-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, each. The cameras support 30fps video recording at 2K (2560x1440 pixels) resolution. The tablet offer Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, topped with the company's native UI.
