ZTE Axon working on iPad Pro competitor Featuring 13.7 inch Snapdragon 810

ZTE recently launched their Axon range of smartphone to the international market during the IFA this year. Launched first in US, the ZTE Axon Elite 4G is scheduled to be the first Axon device to be available in Europe. Now buoyed by the excellent market response ZTE is planning its foray into the tablet market.

Despite competing out in the smartphone industry, none of the top Chinese OEM takes the tablet market rather seriously. In fact smaller players too aren't investing much in this section in China. ZTE however is planning to change that market dimensions very soon.

A new report claims that the Chinese OEM is working towards releasing a 13.7 inch higher performance tablet pretty soon. Spotted on GeekBench the large screen device from ZTE sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 under the hood with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The large 13.7 inch display however comes with a Full HD (1920x1080) display with 5 finger gesture support. A Quad HD panel on such a large display would have been desirable, however the Full HD one will hopefully be quite adequate. The camera on the back is a 2MP unit according to the benchmark listing.

ZTE's recent foray into the tablet market, might be an area of concern for Apple. Apparently it seems that the tablet will compete with Cupertino giant's Apple iPad Pro. Hence in case Apple is planning to take the Axon lightly then they should at their own peril.
