Since the time Apple launched its sixth generation iPhone - iPhone 5, the company is being rumored for its next smartphone releases. There have been a plethora of speculations regarding the next generation devices including iPhone 5S, iPad Mini 2, iPad 5 and a cheaper and miniature version of iPhone.

The latest information comes in from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a good record in forecasting Apple's product roadmap. According to a recent MacRumors report, the analyst has illustrated his predictions for this year explaining the supposed products that Apple could come up with.

Kuo has claimed that Apple as rumored will launch iPhone 5S and a redesigned and cheaper variant of iPhone 5, which is budget oriented in June or July 2013. He added that the iPhone 5S will resemble the iPhone 5, but will allegedly feature some upgrades including fingerprint sensor, improved camera with smart LED flash and more importantly - A7 chip.

Additionally, Kuo has also suggested that the cheaper iPhone, which is rumored will have a plastic body of 8.2 mm thickness and will be available in six colors as speculated earlier.

As of iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2, the analyst states that the Cupertino tech titan would upgrade both the tablets in Q3 2013 adding that iPad Mini 2 will have Retina Display and the full sized iPad will come with a slimmer and lighter profile.

Apart from iPhones and iPads the analyst also predicted that Apple will update its Mac lineup with Retina display and thinner designs making them available at cheaper price points. He said that Apple will end its non-Retina MacBook Pro devices in 2013.

He added that the MacBook Air will remain non-Retina as it could face challenges in production while it could incorporate Intel's Haswell platform in Q2 2013. Even the iMac and iMac Mini will shift to the Haswell platform in Q4 this year.

Further, Kuo predicted that Apple would discontinue the fourth-generation iPod touch and introduce an 8GB fifth-generation model without a rear-facing camera for $199 (approx Rs 11,000). He said Apple TV will receive a small update by the end of Q1 2013, but he did not specify what the update would pack. He also clarified that an Apple HDTV is unlikely to debut in 2013 owing to content issues and other industry hang-ups.

Though Kuo has certainly mapped out Apple's plans for the year, most of the information remains known. Hence, it can be said that his assumptions are on the safer side. The tech world will have to wait for Apple to announce the launches to know the precision of Kuo's predictions.
