It appears as if the war between the telecom operators in India is about to get uglier by day. Every alternate day, one or the other telco is introducing new tariff plans to keep up with other operators and more importantly to dethrone Reliance Jio from where it managed to position itself in the short span of its existence.
BSNL, the state-owned telco has launched a promotional offer yesterday, which provides its prepaid users with double data benefits at the same price.
"Four new Data STVs have been launched on festive season on pan India basis with validity of 365 days with double data offer from October 10 to 31 October 2016," one of the BSNL's statement read.
Take a look at these four new offers below.
Get 18GB of data instead of 9GB at Rs. 1,498
Previously BSNL used to offer 9GB of data at Rs. 1,498 for its prepaid users. Now with the special promotional offer you can get 18GB of data for the same price.
36GB of data under Rs. 2,798 plan
In contrast to the 18GB of data, you'd get under Rs. 2,798 plan, BSNL prepaid users will now get 36GB of data for Rs. 2,798.
Rs. 3,998 for 60 GB data
With the special promotional offer, you will get 60GB of data at Rs. 3,998 instead of 30GB data you'd get otherwise.
80GB of data instead of 40GB under the Rs. 4,498 plan
As opposed to the 40GB data you'd normally get under the Rs. 4,498, now you'll get 80GB of data.
How does it compare against other operators
On the other hand, Airtel at similar price for the base plan (Rs. 1,498 plan), is offering only 5GB of 4G data while Reliance is offering 20 GB of data. In comparison, BSNL is way ahead of Airtel but, slightly lags behind Reliance Jio's offering.
