Reliance Jio appears to be rolling out a low-key promotional perk for a section of its subscribers. Some users are finding that their JioHotstar accounts have been automatically upgraded to Premium, with free access valid for three months. There’s no official announcement so far, and the upgrade seems to be happening silently in the background.

Users who’ve received the benefit say the Premium tag shows up as soon as they log in to JioHotstar using their Jio-linked mobile number. There’s no need to apply, activate a coupon, or recharge with a specific plan.

What This Free JioHotstar Premium Includes

If the upgrade is active on your account, you get standard JioHotstar Premium access for three months. That means ad-free viewing on supported content, access to international movies and TV shows, live sports streaming, and higher video and audio quality options.

Functionally, it works like a regular paid subscription. The only difference is that there’s no charge involved during the three-month period.

How To Check If You’ve Got the Upgrade

To see if you’re eligible, open the JioHotstar app and sign in with your registered Jio mobile number. If Premium access has been enabled, you’ll see a Premium badge on your account. If not, your account is likely not part of this promotional rollout.

Apart from this free upgrade, Jio also offers prepaid plans that come with JioHotstar bundled in. These include the ₹949 and ₹1,029 plans with three months of access, and higher-value plans like ₹3,599 with three months and ₹3,999 with a full year of JioHotstar.
