BSNL launches protection of E-mail from hackers

Initially this will be offered to corporate hosted customers and later this service will be available to all BSNL broadband customers.

State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited ( BSNL) has announced its new offer in which the telco is offering protection of E-mail from hackers and accidental delete of emails.

The telco said that initially this will be offered to corporate hosted customers and later this service will be available to all BSNL broadband customers.

Its an important step towards solving the customer's pain for managing their emails. Today, because of the limitation of the mailbox size, users go through their emails and delete unwanted emails. While deleting those emails, users delete their important emails too, BSNL said.

Anil Jain, CGM, NCNGN said "Now every email customer of BSNL is protected against accidental deletion of emails. Customers can recover deleted emails within next 7 days from the date of deleting the email. A customer can login into their webmail, go to search and select "Archive of Deleted Emails" and search desired emails to be restored back. There is no size restriction to recover any deleted email."

Director BSNL, NK Mehta shared that "customers can provide forever protection to their very important emails by simply moving to the SECURE folder giving them security from accidental deletion and hackers, as a secure folder is also protected with one additional password."

Anupam Shrivastava, Chairman, and Managing Director BSNL said that "this important facility which gives peace of mind to our email customer is available in just Rs. 200 per year. This is available to all broadband and hosted customers. On purchase, a user also doubles his storage capacity usable in the secure folder.

Meanwhile, the telco has recently has introduced simplified verification process for existing Mobile Customers of NRI, Senior citizens, and Physically Challenged persons. This web-based application can be used from the comfort of home by the following category of customers for completing the verification process.

The service can be used by senior citizens above 70 years as on 1-1-2018 or his or her Aadhar Number does not have the mobile number registered with UIDAI or have Aadhar but unable to do biometric authentication.
