Vodafone, Airtel Remove Cap On Voice Calls

The tweet reads, "Free Still Means Free, Enjoy free calls to other networks with our truly unlimited plans." The company has taken this step to please its prepaid customers. Meanwhile, Airtel has also announced the same through its twitter account. The company has removed a cap on voice calls, starting from December 7. Airtel said, "We heard you! And we are making the change. From tomorrow, enjoy unlimited calling to any network in India with all our unlimited plans. No conditions apply."

Apart from that, Airtel has introduced three new plans, where the company is providing unlimited calling to other networks. The new plans are priced at Rs. 219, Rs. 319, and Rs. 449. These plans offer unlimited calling, 1GB, 1.5GB, and 2GB data per day, respectively. These plans are valid 28 and 56 days. It includes free access to the Airtel Thanks app where users will get free hello tunes, unlimited Wynk Music, and free access to the Airtel Xstream app.

After providing free offers for almost three years, telecom operators have finally announced a hike in their prepaid plans. The companies have increased prices by 40 percent. However, it is expected that these new tariffs will improve the overall health of the telecom sector.

In fact, some analysts believe that this will boost the revenue of about Rs. 53,000 crore and operating profit are likely to go up to Rs. 42,000 crore. This would definitely help Airtel and Vodafone Idea, as they have reported a loss of Rs. 74,000 crore in Q2FY20, which is highest in any industry.
