The latest Apple Watch Series 3 has been launched and the device also gets the latest operating system, the WatchOS 4. The OS boasts several updates that include health and fitness tracking features. The device also boasts several, heart rate monitoring features that includes monitoring of resting heart rate, walking heart rate, and recovery rate.

First Generation Apple Watch will not get the heart rate monitoring

However, old Apple Watch will not be able to perform all these functions. The latest monitoring features are limited to Apple Watch Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 while the very first Apple Watch will not have the feature. The oldest Apple Watch now seems to be outdated in terms of hardware technology.

Apple Watch Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 have better processors and lasting batteries while the very first Apple Watch that was launched back in 2015 and the latest WatchOS 4 features have outgrown the device.

The latest Apple Watch Series 3 device is powered by dual-core Apple S3 chipset. It has 768 MB of RAM whereas it boasts an internal storage of 16GB. The first Apple Watch, on the other hand, boasted 512 MB of RAM and is powered by S1 chipset.

Talking of Apple Watch Series 3, the smartwatch has a tough road ahead of it since it has already been showing signs of buggy OS. The smartwatch has connectivity issues using both LTE and Wi-Fi. Apple better shows a door out to problems related to the latest wearable tech as soon as possible.
