Intex iRist smartwatch now available on eBay in India, priced for Rs 11,999


Indian OEM Intex launched their first smartwatch dubbed the iRist watch at the Mobile World Congress, Shanghai last month. They hadn't launched a release date during the event and had just mentioned that the smartwatch will start retailing soon. But finally the watch went on sale today via eBay India at a price of Rs 11,999.

Intex iRist smartwatch now available on eBay in India

The smartwatch will start shipping Monday onwards. Intex is also giving away a Bluetooth Speaker worth Rs 1,500 to buyers who purchase the iRist watch on or before Sunday. The USP of this smartwatch lies in the fact that it is a standalone device. Unlike most other smartwatches which needs to pair with your smartphone via Bluetooth, the iRist watch has 3G module built in to receive and send text messages.

The watch sports a boxy design with a dimension of 44x44x14mm. It also comes with a dust and water proof resistant capabilities. The display is standard 1.56 inch using a below standard resolution of 240x240, considering the fact that the rumoured Samsung Gear A and the rumoured Moto 360 is said to come with higher resolution display. Going by the price of just Rs 11,999 we can leave this part. Under the hood, is a Mediatek MT6572 1.3GHz dual core processor coupled with a 512MB of RAM.

Intex iRist comes with a 4GB of onboard storage along with a 5MP camera capable of shooting 720p videos. For connectivity it features a Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB, and GPS. The battery inside is also quite healthy at 600mAh - the company claims a battery life of 240 minutes of talk time and upto 200 hours of standby time.
