TAG Heuer failing to meet-up to the demand of its Connected Series Smartwatch
Swiss Watchmaker TAG Heuer recently made an entry into the smartwatch space with the launch of their Android Wear powered Connected Series smartwatch. Surprisingly the Connected Series smartwatch is faring well beyond TAG Heuer expectations despite featuring a hefty price tag of $1,500 (Rs 97,500 approx.)
The demand is so much so that TAG Heuer is stepping up the production of the wearable. Alongside that the Swiss brand is also suspending its online sales to give priority to its physical stores. TAG Heuer claims that they have received around 100,000 orders from retailers, agents and subsidiaries.

In order to meet up to the demand TAG Heuer is stepping up its production facility to manufacture 2000 watches a week as compared to its present capacity of 1,200 per week. It is reported that the online sales of the Connected Series watch will remain suspended till May or June of next year.
Furthermore the company is planning to introduce more variants of the smartwatch in near future. While talking in this regard TAG Heuer CEO, Jean-Claude Biver said, "Considering the success of this single and unique watch, we will develop a collection made out of different varieties, executions and materials at the end of next year or beginning of 2017"
