Upcoming Fitbit Watch final design revealed in new render
Instead of high-end features, the Fitbit smartwatch will put more focus on endurance.
We already know that Fitbit will launch its first ever smartwatch later this year. The company made the announcement a few months ago after it acquired Pebble for $23 million. As some of you may be aware, Pebble is one of the most renowned names in the smartwatch industry.
Back in May, we came across an alleged render of the upcoming Fitbit smartwatch. Yet again, the website Warable has posted a couple of new images. As per the claims, the images reveal the final design of the device. These images almost match with the previous render. As you can see, the smartwatch fails to impress in terms of design. And, it holds a resemblance to the Fitbit Blaze that was launched earlier.
The Fitbit Watch is expected to be launched in three color variants; Rose Gold case with Blue strap, Silver case with Navy strap, and a darker case with a Black strap. While Fitbit has traditionally used Green optical sensors for tracking heart rate, the new renders show off two Pink lights.
This suggests that the device may come equipped with a pulse oximeter, which will be able to measure the oxygen level in the blood of the user. If this speculation turns out to be true, the Fitbit smartwatch will give much more accurate heart rate readings. That being said, we are just doing guesswork here.
Previous reports have said that the smartwatch wouldn't be coming with LTE support. Well, this is quite disappointing as a smartwatch should offer support for LTE. However, the Fitbit smartwatch will have an accurate GPS tracker, which will ensure that its battery lasts for a longer time period.
Apparently, instead of high-end features, the Fitbit smartwatch will put more focus on endurance. As per the information obtained, it will be water-proof and will feature biometric sensors of unspecified nature.
As of now, it is not known what software will be running on the Fitbit smartwatch. The possibilities are more one one; it could use Fitbit's custom skin, Pebble's software or a completely different kind.
The pricing factor of the smartwatch also stays under the wraps. Nevertheless, we should get more information about the Fitbit smartwatch in the upcoming days.
