Fossil enters Smartwatch market with three new Intel based Android wearables


Premium watch manufacturer Fossil today aired their plans of entering the smartwatch market in partnership with Intel. Fossil announcement at the Intel Developer Forum, further emphasizes the fact that watch manufacturers are taking the smartwatch game seriously. Previously Casio and TagHuer had aired their plans of launching a smart wear early next year.

With the induction of hardcore watch manufacturers in the smart watch market will enable customer to receive better looking Android Wear in future - the present lot of wearables from prominent tech companies are rather too bland in design.

Fossil showed off not one but three connected accessories at the Developer Forum - all of which run on an Intel built SoC. The smartwatches has tried to merge the design language of the existing Moto 360 and the LG Watch Urbane to create a good looking werable.

Not much other details are available on the smartwatch so far. Something we do know as of now is the round display and the flat strip at the bottom - analogous to the Moto 360. The watch seems to come with a leather band - expect Fossil to announce more details about the watches in the coming few months..

The company also revealed that they are working on another smartwatch. But Fossil was determined to not give out any further details about their upcoming project. It's for sure though, that the watch won't run the Android Wear on top.
