MiVi Saxo Bluetooth headphones review
Mivi Saxo is a Bluetooth enabled headphone which runs on Bluetooth version 4.1 and the headphone also has a 3.5mm AUX jack in case the battery runs out.
Wireless headphones are gradually turning into a necessity. Smartphones without a 3.5mm headphone jack leave users with no other options but to buy a pair of wireless headphones/earphones to tune in to music or to make/receive calls. The market now offers a variety of Bluetooth enabled headphones and earphones in budget price-point. However, finding the one that offers immersive audio and ticks all other right boxes can be a tedious task. We have recently reviewed Amkette Urban wireless earphones and today we have got MiVi Saxo.
Priced at Rs. 2,999 Saxo wireless headphones are launched by Mivi, an emerging name in the mobile accessory market.
MiVi Saxo is available in two color variants. In terms of performance, I would say that the device does pack some punch. Let's take a sneak peek at the brand before we proceed further with the features and specification of the headphones.
Mivi is a homegrown smartphone accessories brand. The company is rather new in the market and was set up back in 2015 by husband-wife duo, Viswandh Kandula, and Midhula Devabhaktuni. Mivi products range includes Headphones and chargers both wired and wireless along with powerbanks. Mivi sells its product online on Amazon and Flipkart at Rs.2,999.
So now when you have an idea about the brand, let's find out what MiVi Saxo has to offer as wireless headphones.
Design
Mivi Saxo wireless headphones come with foldable ear cup design and are made up of good quality plastic. The earcups and the headband have cushioning to offer a comfortable wearing experience during prolonged audio sessions. The headphones are available in two color variants which include black and white
Mivi has indeed crafted a portable yet comfortable pair of Bluetooth headphones. The foldable earcups make the headphones easy to carry around as they take less space in a carry baggage. The leather cushioning on the headband and ear pads adds to the device's comfort. However, while using the headphones for a long period my ears tend to sweat a bit which was a little annoying. The headphones itself are featherweight and you can hardly feel their weight which is really commendable. Overall, the build quality seems good and the headphones sit easily on your head without any discomfort. I wish the ear cups could have been a bit bigger for a more immersive audio experience.
Features and Specifications
Mivi Saxo area wireless headphones which also comes with Aux connectivity. The headphones run on Bluetooth version 4.1 and have a connectivity range of 30 ft which means the device makes use of Class 2 Bluetooth. To be precise the Class 2 Bluetooth devices have a connectivity range of 33 ft and the connected devices do require a direct line of sight. The battery capacity is 420 mAh and the company claims a battery backup of approximate 17 hours of audio playback on a single charge.
The headphones can be paired with 2 devices simultaneously.
The speakers have a frequency range of 20Hz-20 kHz with speaker sensitivity at 115 db+/-3 along with 32 ohms Impedance; which makes the sound output from the speakers quite loud. Mivi has used 40mm size speaker to help maximize the sound output.
Connectivity options
As mentioned above Mivi Saxo is a Bluetooth enabled headphone which runs on Bluetooth version 4.1 for uninterrupted playback experience. The headphone also has a 3.5mm AUX jack in case the battery runs out the headphones can be played using a cable. This dual connectivity option should grab the attention of the audience. The device uses a standard Android charging slot and the headphones take 3-4 hour for a single complete charge which in return churns out approximately 15 hours of playback time, impressive huh!
Performance
Mivi has done quite an impressive work in designing and engineering this product. Like I have been mentioned from the beginning, the headphones are pretty loud and prolong usage doesn't burden up the ears much as the headphones are quite light in weight. I played a variety of tracks on these headphones and was quite pleased with the audio delivery.
The best part about Mivi Saxo is the fact that the headphones offer powerful sounding experience with almost no stress on the ears.
The base produced by the headphones is punchy and the mids and lows are also balanced. The headphones also deliver crystal clear audio during voice calls.
Battery life
Mivi Saxo wireless headphones are powered by a 420 mAh battery unit. On varied volume levels, the pair of headphones lasted for approximately 15 hours on a single charge The battery backup is good and if you manage to consume all the juice, the 3.5mm headphone jack is alwys at your rescue.
Conclusion
Mivi Saxo headphones come at an affordable price of Rs 2,999 which makes them a good deal keeping the aesthetics and specifications of the device in mind. The wireless headphones deliver powerful audio with almost no stress on the ears. That said, Mivi Saxo can be a good option for audiophiles who are looking for a budget wireless headphones.
