Microsoft Intends To Launch Its Own Mobile Gaming Store

Microsoft has typically had a lesser presence in smartphone app distribution, but this seems to be changing.

Microsoft intends to build its own mobile gaming shop in order to shatter Apple and Google's duopoly.

Phil Spencer, Microsoft's games executive, told the Financial Times that the EU's Digital Market Act (DMA) will assist the business meet its mobile app store targets.

The Digital Markets Act aims to protect enterprises and end users from unfair conditions imposed by gatekeepers like as Apple and Google, as well as to preserve the openness of vital digital services.

The DMA will take effect in March 2024 and will allow firms to load their app stores on iPhones and Android phones by asking that Apple and Google open up their systems.

The company’s goal of providing Xbox and content on any screen, which is currently not possible to implement on mobile devices.
