While the CES 2015 is taking place in Las Vegas next month, Acer may have some elaborate plans to showcase its next wave of devices at most crowded consumer electronics show in the world.
Now recently, GizBot met the company officials at the Liquid series smartphone launch held in New Delhi. There we met Allen Burnes, Vice President Smart Phones Business, Acer Group, who briefed GizBot on the company's plans on the broader push into the wearable segment market.
Consequently, we got to know that Acer is preparing to release a new wearable device at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month.
Earlier this year, Acer launched the Liquid Jade smartband at the annual Computex tech show in Taiwan, and now the company plans to showcase its sequel at CES 2015.
When asked whether the secondgeneration Liquid Leap smartband would be launched in India, Allen Burnes said "We've plans to launch the Liquid Leap 2 in Q1 2015." Interestingly, the hybrid smartband will be compatible with both iOS and Android devices, though unfortunately there's no word yet from Acer whether the band would work with Windows devices or not.
This is good news for those who're looking forward to buy a smart band primarily for fitness purpose. However, the price of the Liquid Leap 2 is still a mystery.
