One of the most popular social networking sites Twitter has been receiving a number of updates on its mobile version. Now the company has updated its desktop version of the site to make most of the fans happy.

In fact, with the increasing popularity of the emoticons, Twitter has updated its Web interface to display emoji for the desktop version. Previously, the emoji images support were only available on mobile apps (Android and iOS). Now users can see them in the Web interface, today onwards.

The Twitter team has been doing a lot of changes in the site, and recently, it made easier for users to search for tweets, with new date-based search options.

However, It appears that the emojis aren't supported in tweets that are embedded on websites. On Windows, each character appears as a blank square unless you click through to the tweet, while other platforms display their regular set.

Micro-blogging site Twitter which has more than 241 million monthly active users. Twitter is also testing a Fave people Time Line that will allow users to go through the time-line for favorite people. The new feature is currently available on Twitter's alpha Android app only.
