Here are 5 Ways How Moto Mods Let You Customize Moto Z and Z Force Smartphones
Finally, after much rumors and speculations, Motorola unwrapped the flagship smartphones - Moto Z and Moto Z Force. There are many impressive features in these phones, but one of them is that these smartphones come with modular functionality with the accessories called Moto Mods.
Well, Moto Mods are snap-on accessories that can be magnetically attached to the smartphone using the 16 pin connector that is at the bottom back of the smartphone. This way, you can convert your Moto Z or Moto Z Force smartphone into whatever you want it to be such as a portable stereo, portable projector, battery powerhouse, and more.

At the event, Lenovo showed off some Moto Mods and assured to launch these modular accessories in September that is when the smartphones are claimed to be made available. Here, you will get know more about the Moto Mods accessories that were announced.
Incipico offGRID Power Pack
This is a lightweight mod cover that can easily fit into your pocket and it features a 2,220 mAh battery that is likely to provide 22 hours of additional backup to the smartphone apart from the battery that is included in the smartphone.
Also, there is a wireless charging edition as well that bring about wireless charging functionality to the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. It will come in designer editions and it weighs just 79 grams for the normal one and 85 grams for the wireless charging version.
JBL SoundBoost
This Moto Mods accessory aims to provide high-quality JBL stereo sound with the 27 mm speakers on it. You need not pair the same with the smartphone like the Bluetooth speakers.

There is a kickstand that will prop up the phone and an additional 1,000 mAh battery that is claimed to provide 10 hours of audio playback without making use of the phone's battery. This modular accessory can also double as a speaker during voice calls.
InstaShare Projector
This projector Moto Mod can project the contents on the Moto Z and Moto Z Force on to a 70-inch screen on the wall or ceiling as per the requirement. It works with all that is on the phone's display. There is a flexible kickstand that lets changing the angle as per the surface when you are projecting on it.
This Moto Mod has a 1,100 mAh battery that can render 1 hour of projection, but the downside is that it projects at 480p resolution that is low.
Moto Style Shells
The Style Shells are snap on covers that are aimed to improve the look and feel of the smartphones. These do not have any modular functionality, but you can instantly customize your phone giving it a fresh new look.
These covers are made using real wood, fabric patterns or genuine leather, so you can choose one as per your choice.
Moto Mod with a Xenon flash in the making
Motorola is prepping a camera Moto Mod that might include a Xenon flash, inbuilt Zoom lens, physical shutter release buttons and so on. It is expected to be launched later this year and Lenovo assures that the Moto Mods will be compatible with the Moto Z smartphones that will be launched in future.
Mophie and TUMI are announced as partners that will be making the Moto Mods for the newly launched Moto Z smartphone lineup.
