As expected, it is largely ushering the discussion of what technology is going to bring us in the coming years of the post-wireless era. To answer the Indian iPhone lovers' anticipation, Apple has set the date for its India release on October 7. Samsung is already on its toes to grab the Indian market with its Bluetooth-powered no-wire or neckband earbud, Samsung Gear IconX.
While the appearance similarities between two are striking, Gizbot is bringing all the similarities and differences between the two new pairs of wireless earplugs.
Samsung Gear IconX Comes in Different Sizes
Sleeker, Smaller, and Simpler is the core 'mantra' which defines the wireless era. Keeping the same ideology in mind, both Samsung and Apple have designed these earbuds.
While both are designed to sit stung in your ears, Samsung has made the IconX more compact by keeping it in round shaped. It comes in three different eartip and wingtip sizes such as Large, Medium and Small based on your ear size. While Apple has maintained the shape of a regular earplug.

Samsung's IconX Has Its Own Storage
The Gear IconX has a large 4 GB memory where you can keep up to 1,000 favorite workout music of your choice. However, the usable memory is less than 3.5 GB.
Apple AirPods lacks its own storage system, but it can be connected with the iTunes library via infrared sensors to play your favorite songs.
Apple Airpods Seems To Be Great In Terms Of Battery Life
It is the battery life that is a major concern for users. As claimed by Apple, the AirPods has up to 5 hours of listening time with a single charge. Its small sleek charging case holds additional charge of more than 24 hours. On an interesting note, only 15 minutes of charging gives 3 hours of listening time.
However, the battery of Samsung Gear IconX is a serious drawback. It lasts only an hour while streaming music and nearly 3 hours when playing stored music with a single charge.
AirPods Can Sense On Its Own
Apple AirPods has inbuilt infrared optical sensors that can immediately sense once they're in your ears and with one-tap setup, the AirPods are on to use. The motion-detecting accelerometer detects the double tap on the AirPods to activate smarter Siri to make any changes.
Its speech detector accelerometer and beam-forming microphones let you focus on your calls and filters any external noise.
Samsung Gear IconX Serves Other Purposes Too
Samsung Gear IconX is more than just for entertainment purpose. Being built as a fitness earbud, IconX is sweat-proof and its fitness tracker is smart enough to track the user's activity. It automatically starts tracking your heart-rate, speed, distance covered, and calories burnt and the voice guide helps you get updated.
To avoid, any kind of accident, you can switch on your ambiance sensors.
When it comes to compatibility, AirPod can be used with all your Apple devices, be it Apple watch, Macbook, iPhone and iPad over iCloud irrespective of any OS version and storage capacity.
While Samsung Gear IconX can only be connected with devices having Android (V4.O) KitKat version or above and a minimum of 1.5 GB RAM.
