Apple Smart Battery Case Now Available For iPhone 11 Series For $129

Apple has unveiled smart battery cases for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Just like the previous iteration, these battery cases offer protection to the device while increasing the overall battery life.

The outer and the inner layer of the case are made of soft microfiber material that is light yet sturdy. The case also supports lightning accessories like ear pods.

Bump Is Still There

Compared to the smart battery cases of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the new cases do look identical with a battery bump and a camera cutout. Unlike a third-party battery case, the official one will be deeply integrated into iOS to show the remaining battery percentage of the phone and the case.

The case also supports USB-PD fast charging and Qi wireless charging. The case has a dedicated camera shutter button which can wake the camera even if the phone is locked. A short click will capture a photo and a long click will initiate a video recording.

The company claims that the smart battery case will offer up to 50 percent more battery life to the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Price And Availability

The smart battery case for Apple iPhone 11 series is currently on sale in select markets and is available in various color options. In the US it retails for $129 (approx Rs. 9,300) for all three iPhone models. As of now, there is no information on the pricing or the availability in India.

The official battery case will help iPhones to last longer. However, it does add a lot of heft to the device making them bulky and heavy. At almost Rs. 10,000 this accessory is a bit expensive as well.
