The iPhone 17 has been the subject of intense speculation, and now, fresh details hint at new MagSafe chargers in the pipeline. According to 91mobiles, Apple is preparing to launch new MagSafe chargers for the next-gen iPhones.

Apple MagSafe Chargers Surface Online - What to Expect?

The new chargers, bearing model numbers A3502 and A3503, were recently listed on Taiwan's NCC certification website. What's notable is that these chargers support the latest Qi 2.2 wireless charging standard.

For context, current MagSafe chargers are compatible with Qi 2 and the original Qi format. Although the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) had introduced Qi 2.1 with MagSafe-style magnetic alignment, Apple skipped that version and appears to be moving straight to Qi 2.2.

The listings also revealed images of the test units. The new MagSafe chargers retain the signature white, circular puck design, now paired with a braided USB-C cable. The A3503 model comes with a 2-meter cable, while the A3502 features a 1-meter one. Based on ruler markings, the puck measures around 100mm in diameter.

In terms of performance, the chargers support up to 45W power delivery (15V × 3A) when connected to a compatible USB PD wall adapter. The NCC ID and logo can also be seen near the cable's entry point into the puck.

Interestingly, the accessories have been tested with both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 11, suggesting backwards compatibility with older iPhone models dating back several generations.

Overall, these developments indicate Apple's strategic move towards enhancing its wireless charging capabilities. As technology evolves rapidly, keeping an eye on such advancements can provide insights into future trends and improvements in consumer electronics.

iPhone 17 Series - What to Expect?

We're still a few months away from the launch of the iPhone 17 series, which is expected to include at least four models-iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

For now, the spotlight is on Apple's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025, scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 13 at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The event will kick off with a keynote address by Apple CEO Tim Cook at 9 AM PT (10 PM IST) on June 9. During the keynote, Apple is expected to unveil major updates across its software platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS.
