Apple Unveils iPhone Pocket with 3D-Knitted Design: Check Features and Price

ISSEY MIYAKE and Apple have teamed up to unveil the iPhone Pocket, a unique creation inspired by the concept of "a piece of cloth." Crafted using a singular 3D-knitted design, it seamlessly adapts to fit any iPhone along with other pocketable essentials.

The iPhone Pocket is characterised by its ribbed open structure, reminiscent of ISSEY MIYAKE's original pleats. Designed as an additional pocket, it fully encloses the iPhone while expanding to hold more daily items. When stretched, the fabric subtly reveals its contents, allowing users to glance at their phone display. It can be worn in multiple ways: handheld, attached to bags, or directly on the body.

Design and Inspiration

Manufactured in Japan, the iPhone Pocket showcases a singular 3D-knitted construction developed through extensive research at ISSEY MIYAKE. The design takes cues from "a piece of cloth," reimagining the brand's iconic pleated clothing for everyday use. The project was realised in close partnership with Apple's Design Studio, which contributed insights into both design and production processes.

The accessory comes in a playful colour palette. The short strap version is available in eight colours: lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black. Meanwhile, the long strap version offers three colours: sapphire, cinnamon, and black. This variety allows users to personalise their style according to preference.

Availability and Pricing

The iPhone Pocket is a limited-edition item. The short strap variant is priced at $149.95 (around Rs 13,275), while the long strap version costs $229.95 (around Rs 20,358). Customers can purchase it starting November 14 at select Apple Store locations and online at apple.com across several countries, including France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S.
