Xiaomi Mi Piston 3.0 and Mi Headphones launched in India: First sale on July 23!

Xiaomi India is celebrating their Anniversary in quite a style. First they launched a 32GB variant of the Mi4i earlier in the day. And now they are here with two of their headphones-Mi Piston 3.0 and the Mi Headphones.

The company's previous headphones viz. the Mi Piston 2.1 had, had quite a success in India. The impeccable build and top notch sound quality had much to contribute to that. With the launch of the Mi Piston 3.0 in China, the company stopped selling their previous generation device in India. It happened quite a few months back, and since then the company had been selling a striped down variant dubbed the Mi Earphones in India via e-commerce website.

Meet the Mi Piston 3.0:

Followed by the hype in the market the company launched their new flashy pair of in-ear headphones today. The product will be mi.com exclusive and will retail at a price of Rs 999. The first sale is scheduled tomorrow at 10 PM. No registration is required though. The Red-dot award winning headphone uses a superior quality aerospace grade metal diaphragm with a patented ‘sandwich' design for superior trebles. It also features unique spiral airflow channels for improved high and mid bass! The microphone department on the other hand is handled by a Knowles MEM unit.

Like the previous generation the Mi Piston 3.0 wired have Kevlar cables on the inside which protects them from tearing. This is a must have feature for a carefree user like me who has a habit of carrying headphones in tangled manner in my pocket! The earphones weigh round 14grams and the wires are long enough at 1.25m.

Here's something for the audiophiles!

The Mi Headphones on the other hand is much costlier at Rs 5,499. This is mainly aimed at those audiophiles who has an ear to detect every slightest of changes in music. The headphones which was launched first in May in China features a 50 mm beryllium diaphragm. The cable is flat one with the Kevlar coating carried from its lower priced sibling. The microphone has also been carried over. The speaker is gold plated on the exterior and this is something that makes it look class apart from other headphones selling in this price bracket!

This too will be a Mi.com exclusive as of now. Xiaomi is also providing an extra Rs 50 discount for the sale tomorrow for first time buyers via their Mi.com app.
