Monster launches Elements headphones with Melody virtual assistant

Monster has unveiled a headphone that goes with the name Elements, and the device has its own voice assistant called Melody. Although Monster has never known to be a pioneer in technical innovations, it has taken a major step towards starting the big change.

Melody voice assistant has been developed by Speak Music, and Monster has incorporated the assistant on its Elements product line-up. Monster worked out a deal with Speak Music through latter's chief revenue officer who was also once a VP of product at Monster.

It seems that Melody as an assistant makes a strong case for stand alone home speaker units. Imagine the conundrum a user has to face when it comes to using the Melody virtual assistant along with a smartphone that has its own assistant.

Melody can be downloaded on any smartphone that comes as an app. However, users need to keep in mind that the hardware specifications and performance of the smartphone should be more than just average for a better compatibility.

Although virtual assistants are now a common entity that is being incorporated across myriads of gadgets, the use of the technology is hardly scraping the surface of limitless possibilities that await invention. Monster hopes to provide a substantial alternative to Siri in terms of music operations since Apple hasn't really given too much thought to its virtual assistant's music prowess.

Monster's wireless Elements headphones are available in "black slate," "black platinum," and "rose gold" colors and will retail for $350(approx. Rs. 22,500). The gizmo will be released by the end of this month.
