Nothing Ear (2) To Feature IP54 Rating, LHDC 5.0 Codec
Earlier this month, Nothing confirmed the launch date for its upcoming Truly Wireless Earbuds in India and other markets. The Nothing Ear (2) is set to launch on March 22 and the TWS earbuds will be available for purchase from Flipkart.
The company, however, has kept a closed lid on the features but has been building up the hype by releasing information on a drip feed. Now, Founder Carl Pei has unveiled more details about the upcoming TWS in an interview with Forbes.

Nothing Ear (2) Features Teased
The Nothing Ear (2) will retain the transparent design of its predecessor. Additionally, the TWS earbuds will support LHDC 5.0, an upgrade over the Nothing Ear (1)'s support for AAC codec. LHDC 5.0 enables users to listen to Hi-Res audio over Bluetooth.
Carl Pei also said the high-end TWS earbuds would feature improved water and dust resistance, with an official IP54 rating. In comparison, the previous Nothing Ear (1) only had an IPX4 rating with no official protection against dust. This was a genuine problem, as many users reported dust particles getting inside the transparent body.
While no other information about the upcoming TWS earbuds is confirmed, leaked design renders revealed the transparent design of the Nothing Ear (2), with a few minor tweaks here and there.
Nothing Ear (2) Design
The stem of the TWS earbuds is semi-transparent, with a black strip covering the internals. The design reveals the two circular batteries packed on the inner side.
The branding, however, will be updated to differentiate from its predecessor. It will continue to include silicone ear tips for better grip and passive noise reduction.
The Ear (2) is also expected to retain some features that worked with the Nothing Ear (1), such as Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, etc. It is also expected to get Advanced EQ and support for GPS tracking.
Other details are presently unknown. However, the company is expected to keep the audience on a drip feed of new information in the lead-up to the launch.
The earbuds will be unveiled by the end of the month and will likely go on sale on Flipkart right after their launch in India.
