Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Launched with Triple-Driver Architecture, Noise Cancellation, Spatial Audio and More

Nothing has expanded its over-ear audio line-up with the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro, a higher-end successor to last year’s Headphone (1). The new model focuses on acoustic hardware, stronger noise cancellation and wider wired and wireless audio support, while the company has also named global music artist V as its Global Brand Ambassador.

The launch positions Nothing more directly against premium headphones from established audio and smartphone brands. At USD 399, or around Rs. 38,300 before taxes and duties, the Headphone (1) Pro is not a budget product. Its India availability has not been announced yet, which means local pricing and launch timing remain unclear.

Nothing Headphone (1) Pro gets Triple-driver Audio System

The biggest technical change is the new triple-driver acoustic architecture. Nothing is using separate driver hardware for different frequency ranges, instead of relying on a single full-range driver. A 40mm bass driver handles the 20Hz to 10kHz range, while a precision dynamic driver covers the 5kHz to 15kHz band for vocals, instruments and mid-range detail.

The third driver is an xMEMS tweeter for the 10kHz to 40kHz range. This solid-state micro-speaker technology is meant to improve high-frequency transient response. On paper, this setup should allow cleaner separation between bass, mids and treble, though real-world tuning will decide how natural the headphones sound.

The Headphone (1) Pro carries Hi-Res Audio certification for both wired and wireless use. Wireless playback supports LDAC at up to 24-bit/96kHz. USB-C audio supports digital transmission up to 24-bit/192kHz lossless, while the 3.5mm analogue input supports signals up to 24-bit/96kHz.

Noise Cancellation, Spatial Audio and App Controls

Nothing says it worked with London-based Metropolis Studios on acoustic calibration. The headphones include a Flat EQ mode for a more linear response, along with a spatial audio preset modelled on the studio’s Studio B room. Spatial audio also supports dynamic head tracking across Standard, Studio B, Club, Concert Hall and Live House profiles.

The Nothing X app adds five genre-based presets influenced by contemporary British music styles. It also includes an Advanced EQ, allowing parametric adjustments across individual drivers within the 20Hz to 20kHz range. This should appeal to users who want more control than standard bass and treble sliders.

Active noise cancellation uses 10 microphones, with three feed-forward and two feedback microphones on each earcup. Nothing claims the system offers up to 46dB real-time adaptive ANC, with a 5dB improvement and 40 percent broader cancellation bandwidth compared with the standard Headphone (1).

For calls, the headphones use a four-microphone beamforming setup with deep neural network processing. Nothing says the system was trained on more than 30 million acoustic samples to reduce wind and background noise during calls.

Battery Life, Design and Global Price

The Headphone (1) Pro weighs 327 grams and uses titanium and aluminium structural elements. The earcups support up to 20 degrees of tilt. Nothing has widened the headband by 2.0mm, increased foam padding by 1.0mm, and says the padding is 50 percent softer than before.

Other features include Bluetooth 6.1, AAC, SBC, LDAC, LC3 broadcast audio support, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, Dual Connection, in-ear detection and Low Lag Mode. The headphones also include roller, paddle and button controls for playback, volume, calls, assistant access and ANC switching. They carry an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The 1060mAh battery is rated for up to 68 hours of AAC playback without ANC and 30 hours with ANC. With LDAC, the claimed figures are 53 hours without ANC and 28 hours with ANC. A five-minute charge is rated to deliver up to four hours of playback without ANC, or two hours with ANC.

The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro will be sold in black and white through Nothing’s official web store and authorised retail partners. Global pricing is set at USD 399, 349 GBP and 349 euros. Indian buyers will have to wait for a local launch announcement before knowing final pricing, warranty terms and retail availability.
