Portronics launches Diski: An affordable 4-in-1 card reader

Portronics has just launched a smartphone accessory Diski, which is an Apple certified (MFI) 4-in-1 card reader. This pocket-friendly plug and play product works with all the smart devices connector types; USB, micro USB, Type C and Apple's Lightning. Weight at just 100g, it is offered in 6 different colors.

In addition, it can backup photos and videos automatically. Diski can function as a flash drive by using the camera of "IUSB" App Store App (required only for Apple devices). You can even manage all your data directly on the iOS run device. For example, create, copy, move, delete, rename, open files, backup and restore the contact list. While Android users can simply use their phone's camera.

This means you can get up to 256GB additional memory to use in real time. Speaking of compatibility, Diski can be connected to iPhones, iPods, iPads, Android phones and digital cameras, computers/Mac, MacBook Pro and other Type-C devices and phones. What's more, it supports all file format types: txt, msoffice files, pdf, jpg, gif, tiff, png, bmp, mp4, mov, 3gp, wmv, mp3, wav, aac, etc.

To make you understand better, Diski is compatible with iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6+, 6s, 6s+, SE, 7, 7+, iPad (iOS 8.0 or higher), Mac OS X 10.6+, Windows 7/8/10, and Android 5.1 and above.

This new card reader from Portronics does not require the installation of any drivers. All you need to do is buy a good quality 8GB to 256GB SD card (not included with Diski) of your choice of memory capacity and insert it into Diski.

If you are an iOS user, with the help of iUSB, all of your images, videos and files can be managed. However, you must keep in mind that as per Apple's policy, you are not allowed to copy any iTunes music or movie to any external device.

So what about the speed of data transferring? Well, a single HD movie of around 1GB size only needs about 1 minute to be stored on Diski. Its data reading speed is 20 to 27 milliseconds while writing speed is 11 to 20 ms making watching that movie a real time buffering-free experience.

Speaking of the price point, this card reader carries a price tag of Rs. 2,999. It comes with 6 months of Portronics warranty. Diski is sold at both offline and online stores.
