Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Buds 2 Pro Pokemon Edition Launched

Samsung is known to experiment with pop culture. Last year, it launched a special Pokemon edition of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, that was shaped like a Pokeball. And the most logical progression of the lineup is, of course, individual Pokemons.

The Korean giant has now unveiled Snorlax, Ditto, and Jigglypuff versions of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. And the special edition, because they have identical cases, are coming to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro as well.

Samsung x Pokemon: A Brief History

Previously, the company most famously launched a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Pokemon Edition in 2022. Then it launched the Pokemon flavored case for the Samsung Galaxy Flip4. It has also launched Pokemon themed watch straps for the Galaxy Watch 5.

The new special Pokemon editions are priced roughly the same as the vanilla versions. The special editions are priced KRW 130,000 (roughly Rs 8100) and KRW 200,000 (roughly Rs 12,500. However, they are only available in South Korea for now. It is unlikely to get a global release, methinks.

The Pokemon Special Edition Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro will be available starting July 27 at 9AM local time on Gmarket, and later in the month on July 29, the special edition earbuds will be available in the Samsung Gangnam store for offline purchases.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Buds 2 Pro: Specifications and Features

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro features 360 degree audio with direct multi-channel Dolby Atmos, active noise cancellation and outputs through a dual-driver setup. It comes with six mics, and has ambient mode and Voice Detect. It is also IPX7 rated for water resistance.

The Galaxy Buds 2 also comes with active noise cancellation, with a two-way driver config and three mics with AKG tuned audio.
