The Galaxy SmartTag2 marks a significant advancement over its predecessors, the original Galaxy SmartTag launched in 2021 and the Galaxy SmartTag+ introduced in April of the same year.

The device boasts enhanced battery life, the introduction of the Compass View feature, a power-saving mode, a new Lost Mode, and more. Moreover, the SmartTag2 boasts a more compact elliptical form factor with a larger ring loop.

According to the release, "This means a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached to a pet's collar is now a convenient way to ensure the pet owner's phone number is always there, in most places where the pet might wander."

Compass View Feature

The Compass View feature on the Galaxy SmartTag 2 now displays arrows indicating the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in relation to the user. It's important to note that this feature is exclusively available on UWB-supported Galaxy smartphones. Samsung has enhanced Compass View to provide an improved user experience.

SmartThings Find App Enhancements

The SmartThings Find app has been updated to include newly registered Galaxy SmartTags, creating a convenient shortcut on the user's smartphone. Additionally, the app offers a full-screen map view and introduces a new pet walking mode.
