Sony Launches Lightweight, Wireless, Noise-Canceling Headphones, Sony WH-CH720N in India
Sony has launched its WH-CH720N wireless noise-canceling headphones in India. At 192g, it is Sony’s lightest overhead wireless headphones with noise canceling to date.
Sony claims its headphones have been ergonomically designed to be lightweight and comfortable for users to wear for a long duration without the need for a break. It is made of synthetic leather and urethane materials. The company claims that the headphones are made of recyclable plastic, keeping environment impact in mind.

Sony WH-CH720N Specifications and Features
The headphones have 30mm dynamic drivers and 20 Hz-20000 Hz response. It has Bluetooth 5.2 which can connect up to a range of 10m. It supports SBC and AAC audio formats.
The headphones come with Dual Noise Sensor technology and Sony’s Integrated Processor V1 chip for superior noise cancellation. It features Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) that restores the high-frequency elements that are normally lost when music is compressed, offering a high-quality sound that sounds similar to the original recording.
The headphones have Precise Voice Pickup technology, a beamforming mic, and a Wind Noise Reduction Structure around the mic for clearer communication over phone calls.
It has an Ambient Sound mode which captures the surrounding ambient sound for a more natural listening experience. However, users can adjust the ambient sound through the Sony Headphones Connect app which offers up to 20 different levels.
There’s also an Adaptive Sound Control feature that adjusts the ambient sound setting automatically based on the user’s surroundings.
The headphones offer a multipoint connection, which means it can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. So if you have a call coming on one of the devices, it can quickly switch to the device with the incoming call.
It offers a hands-free voice assistant which can connect to Google’s voice assistant and Alexa using their respective wake words. The headphones have a Google Fast Pair feature that allows users to locate the headphones.
It offers a battery life of 35 hours with noise canceling on, and a maximum of 50 hours with noise canceling off. The company claims that charging the headphones for 3 minutes can extend the battery life by up to 60 minutes.
Sony claims that it has not used any plastic in its packaging, contributing towards a safer environment.
