Sony WH-1000XM6 Flagship Wireless Headphones Launching on May 15 with Improved Features and Specifications
Sony is anticipated to soon introduce the WH-1000XM6 headphones, a successor to the WH-1000XM5. These new wireless headphones are expected to be priced higher than their predecessors. Key features have already surfaced online, hinting at enhanced specifications and an improved audio experience. The current WH-1000XM5 model was globally launched in May 2022 and reached India by September of the same year.
According to a Dealabs report, the Sony WH-1000XM6 is set for a global release on 15 May. In France and Germany, they might be priced at EUR 449.99 (approximately Rs. 43,300). Meanwhile, in Spain and Portugal, the price could be EUR 469.99 (around Rs. 45,200). UK customers may need to pay GBP 399.99 (roughly Rs. 45,200), while US buyers might spend $449.99 (about Rs. 38,100).

Enhanced Features and Specifications
The upcoming Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones are expected to offer up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge. A quick charge of three minutes might provide up to an hour of playback time. They are likely to feature a USB Type-C charging port for convenience.
These headphones will reportedly include a QN3 processor that adjusts active noise cancellation levels based on the environment. Additional features may include Ambient Sound Mode, Talk Mode, and some passive noise reduction capabilities.
Advanced Audio Capabilities
The Sony WH-1000XM6 is said to come with omnidirectional inbuilt microphones and support Hi-Res Audio alongside LDAC audio codec. They will also support SBC, AAC, and LC3 codecs with a frequency range from 4Hz to 40KHz.
Users can expect touch controls and wear detection features along with call noise reduction capabilities. The headphones are anticipated to be compatible with Sony's Sound Connect app and offer customisation through a 10-band EQ.
Design and Connectivity
The design of the Sony WH-1000XM6 includes asymmetrical adjustable headbands with foldable hinges for easy storage. Soft cushion earpads ensure comfort during extended use.
The headphones will likely support Bluetooth 5.3 and multipoint connectivity for seamless device switching. They are expected to weigh approximately 254g and measure around 25.69x20x7.83cm in size.
Sony plans to offer these headphones in Black, Midnight Blue, and Platinum Silver colourways, providing users with stylish options to suit their preferences. The previous model, Sony WH-1000XM5, was launched at $399 (roughly Rs. 30,850) in the US and GBP 379 (approximately Rs. 35,800) in the UK. In India, it was priced at Rs. 34,990.
