Sony WH-1000XM6 Headphones Launch Imminent Following FCC Certification
Sony is set to unveil its latest addition to the premium headphone lineup, with the WH-1000XM6 model on the horizon as a follow-up to the previously released WH-1000XM5 in 2022. This upcoming model has made an appearance on a certification platform, indicating its imminent arrival. Here's what to expect from Sony's upcoming headphones.
Sony WH-1000XM6 Launch Expected Soon
The Sony WH-1000XM6's sighting on the FCC, under the model number YY2984 (as reported by SmartPrix), offers a sneak peek into its design tweaks. These adjustments aim to bolster the headphones' durability, a move further supported by Sony's provision of replaceable earpads.
This not only aids in maintenance but also suggests the possibility of customizing the headphones with different earpad colours. The headphones are expected to be powered by a MediaTek chipset and boast Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility, including support for LE Audio. Additionally, they might retain the same driver size and software as their predecessor, the XM5, while introducing fast charging capabilities.
To recall, the Sony WH-1000XM5 was launched with eight microphone system with four microphones on each side, offering a great noise cancellation effect. It also supports Bluetooth 5.2 with support for Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair technology. For battery, the Sony WH-1000XM5 is claimed to deliver 30 hours of battery life with ANC, and with ANC turned off, the Sony WH-1000XM5 claims to last for 40 hours on a single charge.
The anticipation for Sony's WH-1000XM6 also extends to its audio performance and noise cancellation features, which are predicted to maintain the high standards set by previous models. Although an exact release date remains unconfirmed, the confidentiality agreement for the WH-1000XM6 extends until 22nd July 2025. This suggests that much like the WH-1000XM5's mid-2022 launch, the next-generation model could hit the market around a similar timeframe.
Since all are speculations, we'd suggest our readers take this with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more updates.
