WhatsApp to Release Native Wear OS App for Android Users this Summer
WhatsApp can be used on various devices, such as smartphones, desktops, or laptops. However, smartwatches were not able to support the messaging platform, as there was no dedicated app available. Fortunately, WhatsApp is now addressing this by introducing a native Wear OS app for Android users this summer.
This app's features include the ability to view past conversations, reply via voice messages, preview photos, and more. During the Google I/O 2023 keynote, it was announced that the app would be available on Wear OS 3 devices, including Samsung's Galaxy Watch 5 and the Pixel Watch.

WhatsApp Rolls Out Native Wear OS 3 App for Beta Testers
The native WhatsApp app for Wear OS is currently being tested through the latest update of WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.23.10.10. This app is compatible with the Pixel Watch, Galaxy Watch 5, and other devices that support Wear OS 3. While the app is not yet available to the general public, it is expected to be released in the near future.
As per information shared by WABetaInfo, the Wear OS 3 native WhatsApp app features recent contacts, settings, and an "open-on phone" option on the main screen, following the testing phase. When a user accesses a chat through the app on their smartwatch, they can view past messages from the conversation.
Moreover, they can respond using the system keyboard or by sending a voice message. The native app also offers the ability to view group chats, group members, and more.
To set up the WhatsApp native app on a Wear OS 3 smartwatch, users need to enter an 8-digit code displayed on their watch into their smartphone. After entering the code, all existing chats will be synced between both devices, enabling users to access and check them on their smartwatches.
