Xiaomi launches portable smartphone image printer with AR technology
Xiaomi still looks to prove that it is more than just about value-driven smartphones.
Apart from innovating in the smartphone space, Xiaomi basically works extensively behind the scenes to come with various other interesting products for consumers as well as tech lovers. While the Chinese manufacturer has pretty much established itself in the mobile space, it still looks to prove that it is more than just about value-driven smartphones.
Thus, Xiaomi has been working to prove itself in the consumer electronics market and has been launching several products for the consumers. And now after teasers that popped up on the internet hinting towards a cameras related product the brand has just launched a new portable smartphone image printer in the market.
While the details are scarce as of now, the printer will basically feature a sublimation printing technology with 256 color levels. This will effectively prevent the printing issues with droplet inkjet ink technology. According to MyDrivers post, the printer is built based on CMY3 color fusion that offers a precise reduction of 16.7 million colors wide color gamut.
This portable printer is equipped with Kyocera professional print head technology which delivers up to 0.087 millimeters print head with an active print size of 54 x 86mm and an image resolution of up to 300dpi.
Further, the device prints are automatically coated with a transparent colorless protective film which does not need mounting or coating. It uses a printing paper produced by a Japanese company, DNP, and the report says that the images can be stored at room temperature for decades without fading.
Interestingly, this smartphone image printer supports AR photo technology. Users can upload any video when printing photos to the cloud associated which then allows users to experience the real and AR interactive photo effects. The technology behind this is the use of bright air platform AR engine. As such photo recognition response with this tech is less than 280 milliseconds and it has a tracking speed of up to 120 frames/second for videos.
We are waiting for further details about this new device and we will update this space once we get our hands on it. As for the pricing, the new Xiaomi portable smartphone image printer is priced at 399 Yuan which roughly translates to Rs. 4,056 going by the conversion rates.
