Xiaomi Launches Redmi Watch Move, Its First Made-in-India Smartwatch Priced at ₹1,999

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Watch Move in India, its first smartwatch manufactured locally. At ₹1,999, the device enters the budget wearable space with a focus on everyday functionality-from fitness tracking to hands-free calling.

While Xiaomi hasn't pitched it as a high-end device, the inclusion of regional features like Hindi support shows an effort to localize the experience.

Fitness, Health, and Real-World Functionality

The watch supports 140+ workout modes, and Xiaomi claims a 98.5% tracking accuracy for activities like walking, running, and yoga. It also monitors heart rate, SpO₂ levels, stress, and sleep patterns-including REM cycles. A menstrual tracker has also been added for broader wellness support.

With a 1.85-inch AMOLED display that reaches up to 600 nits brightness, the screen should remain visible in most lighting conditions. The watch includes Always-On Display, though enabling it will reduce the battery life to about 5 days. Without it, the battery is expected to last up to 14 days, and there's an Ultra Battery Saver mode to extend life further.

HyperOS Integration and Hands-Free Features

Running on Xiaomi's HyperOS, the Watch Move syncs with calendars, reminders, weather updates, and to-do lists. A rotating crown allows for easier app navigation, and with Bluetooth calling, users can handle calls directly from the wrist. The device also has an IP68 rating, offering some protection from dust and water.

Availability and Color Options

The Redmi Watch Move will go on sale from May 1 through Mi.com, Flipkart, and retail stores. It will be offered in four colors: Black Drift, Blue Blaze, Silver Sprint, and Gold Rush. Pre-orders open on April 24.
