While a good pair of earbuds are priced on the higher spectrum, wireless earphones with a neckband are an affordable option for many. I came across the Zebronics Zeb-Soul wireless earphones recently and the good quality sound output with bass appealing.

The Zebronics Zeb-Soul earphones are priced at Rs. 3,499 and packs with features like the dual pairing, splash-proof, and more. I've been using this pair for some time now and managed to boil down a list of things I liked and disliked about it. I came across a few glitches while using the Zeb-Soul, which I'll be talking about later in this review. So, let's get started.

Zebronics Zeb-Soul Design

Zebronics Zeb-Soul Design

The Zebronics Zeb-Soul wireless earphones feature a minimal design, similar to most wireless earphones in the market. However, I felt that the neckband of the earphones is thick. For instance, the neckbands from JBL, Sony, and others offer a sleek design, making them more attractive. A good point is that Zebronics offers red, black, blue, and grey color variants for the Zeb-Soul earphones.

The Zebronics wireless earphones pack minimal function buttons. There is a power ON/OFF button on the left side, while the right side has volume rockers and the call answering/rejecting button. The charging point of the earphones is also located on the right side.

There is also an LED indicator, which glows red when put on charge; blue LED light indicates a full charge. When the blue and red LED lights blink alternatively, it indicates that the Bluetooth discovery mode is on. Once a smartphone is connected, the blue LED light blinks once every three seconds. For dual pairing, the first connected smartphone needs to be turned off and can be turned on again once the second smartphone is connected.

The Zeb-Soul earphones pack a CSR chipset and offer usual features like volume and media controls, dual pairing, call functions, and more. The earbuds are enabled with magnets; however, they do not pause the media as found in some other earphones, like Skullcandy, which was slightly disappointing.

The earphones alert the user with vibrations during phone calls, which are quite strong. Do note that the vibrations do not stop till the phone call is answered or put on silent. The earphones also support voice-assistant, which can be activated by long-pressing the Play/Pause button for two seconds to wake up the voice assistant on the smartphone.

I found the earphones and my smartphone seamlessly connecting every time I switched it on. I mainly used the Zeb-Soul to stream music and double-pressing the volume+ button changes the music track. All of these function buttons perform smoothly for a hands-free experience.

Zebronics Zeb-Soul Battery Performance

Zebronics Zeb-Soul Battery Performance

One of the important factors for a Bluetooth earphone is the battery. Zebronics says that the Zeb-Soul earphones last up to 11.5 hours of playback time and it does stand its ground. I was able to use the earphones for nearly three days before putting it on charge. The Zeb-Soul offers more than five hours of talk time and claims to last up to 200 hours in standby mode. It required roughly two hours to charge completely from scratch.

Zebronics Zeb-Soul Earphones Feel

Zebronics has packed three size variants of the earbuds which can be changed to fit and adjusted according to the users. I found the wireless earphones comfortable to use while walking and running. However, the thick neckband was quite a hindrance for me, especially during workouts.

One of the best features of the Zebronics wireless earphones is the high-quality noise cancellation. With the music on, I could hardly make out any external sounds of the surrounding environment. Indoors, I was comfortable with sound level two. Outdoors, I had to increase the volume to another two-three level to completely shut out the ambient noise. Nevertheless, the earphones have excellent noise cancellation.

There is no doubt about the superior sound quality the Zeb-Soul earphones deliver. During my usage, I streamed countless songs and enjoyed the bass of the music as well. However, I faced some issues with phone calls related to the mic. Some of my callers were unable to hear my voice clearly, even with the full network coverage. The issue with the mic repeated a couple of times and I was forced to switch back to my phone's speaker.

Zebronics Zeb-Soul Verdict: Good Sound Output, But Overpriced

Zebronics Zeb-Soul Verdict: Good Sound Output, But Overpriced

The Zeb-Soul is priced at Rs. 3,499 and can be purchased through online platforms like Amazon. The Zeb-Soul can be bought on the Zebronics website for Rs. 3,149. There is no doubt about the sound quality as Zebronics delivers what it promises.

The Zeb-Soul packs with AAC (advanced audio coding) support and comes with bass. But retailing at Rs. 3,499, the Zebronics Zeb-Soul feels a tad overpriced. Wireless earphones from JBL, Skullcandy, Blaupunkt, and others offer earphones in a similar price range; some with sleeker designs and similar audio output.
