The Whale app will allow users to upload images or you can also add from the stock library and add effect to the meme. After creating the meme you can share it directly on your Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp account stories, post, or message threads from the app. You can also save the meme to the camera roll.

Apptopia, an intelligence firm based out of the US, was the first one to spot the app in an App Store. Then a Facebook spokesperson told the publication that the app is created by NPE (New Product Experimentation) team who are responsible to help the company in discovering new features and services for the users.

The app comes equipped with tools like fonts, images, filters, effects, emojis, and a lot more. Users will also get a free-form drawing tool which will allow you to customize images according to your creativity. You can also crop images to make image stickers. The app will also feature filters and effects like laser eyes, thug life caps, bulge, and vortex.

Back in June this year Facebook announced the NPE team to bring new consumer-focused app.
"We decided to use this separate brand name to help set the appropriate expectations with users that NPE Team apps will change very rapidly and will be shut down if we learn that they're not useful to people," reads the Facebook statement.

The Facebook NPE team has come up with apps like Aux which is a live school radio app, and Bump which is a local community chat platform.
