WhatsApp Update: iPhone Users Can Now See Sticker Suggestions While Typing Emoji

WhatsApp has introduced a small but practical feature for iPhone users that could make sticker replies quicker during conversations.

With the latest update to the iOS version of the app, WhatsApp now shows relevant sticker suggestions when users type an emoji in the chat bar. The idea is simple. Instead of opening the sticker keyboard and scrolling through packs, users can quickly pick a sticker that matches the emoji they’re typing.

The feature is rolling out to more iPhone users and may take a few days to appear after updating the app.

Sticker Suggestions Appear While Typing Emoji

The feature is included in the latest WhatsApp for iOS update, which brings the app to version 26.8.76.

Once the update is installed, typing an emoji in the message field can trigger related sticker suggestions. These appear directly above the chat bar, allowing users to quickly select one and send it.

For example, entering a laughing emoji may surface stickers with humorous reactions, while typing a heart emoji could show stickers expressing affection or love.

Users can also tap “Show more results” to browse additional sticker options, including those from third-party sticker packs installed on the device.

Other Features WhatsApp Is Working On

WhatsApp has also introduced several other updates recently.

One of them is Group Message History, which allows new members joining a group to view messages that were sent before they became part of the conversation.

The company is also reported to be working on additional features. These include support for SIM binding for users with Indian phone numbers.

Separately, reports suggest WhatsApp may be preparing an optional premium subscription tier called WhatsApp Plus. The proposed plan is said to bring extra customization and convenience features to paying users, and it could be introduced for both Android and iOS versions of the app.

WhatsApp has not announced a launch timeline for this proposed subscription.
