Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Xiaomi Pad 8 is coming to India, but the exact timeline has caused some confusion over the last 24 hours. While an Amazon listing points to a March launch, a fresh post from Xiaomi India on X suggests the tablet will be unveiled earlier, on February 28.

Xiaomi Pad 8 India Launch Timeline

An Amazon India poster currently lists March 12, 2026, as the Xiaomi Pad 8 launch date. However, a new post from Xiaomi India on X states that the Xiaomi Pad 8 will launch in India on February 28, 2026, at 6:30 PM IST.

This mismatch suggests the Amazon poster may be referring to the sale or availability date rather than the official launch event. For now, Xiaomi’s own X post carries more weight, making February 28 the more reliable launch date unless clarified otherwise.

India Launch Separate From Xiaomi 17 Series

Globally, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Pad 8 series alongside the Xiaomi 17 lineup and other products. In India, however, the tablet is launching separately.

The Xiaomi 17 series is scheduled to debut in India on February 28, aligning with its global launch, while the Pad 8’s availability appears to be staggered.

Despite the difference in timing, both global and Indian variants of the Xiaomi Pad 8 are expected to share the same hardware.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Specifications

The Xiaomi Pad 8 has already launched in China, and those specifications are expected to carry over to India. The tablet features an 11.2-inch display with a 3.2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims a screen density of 345ppi, peak brightness of 800 nits, full DC dimming, and TÜV Rheinland triple eye protection certification.

Powering the tablet is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Audio is handled by a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, along with a USB Type-C port. The tablet also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Battery capacity is rated at 9,200mAh, with support for 45W fast charging. Xiaomi says the Pad 8 measures 5.75mm in thickness and weighs 485 grams.
