Xiaomi Pad 8, Pad 8 Pro Launched with Snapdragon Chips, 144Hz Displays, Android 16-Based HyperOS 3

The Xiaomi 17 series has been unveiled, but the spotlight was also on the new Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets. The Xiaomi Pad 8 series aim to offer a flagship experience with their Snapdragon 8 series chips. Additionally, they are also the first tablets to debut with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 out of the box.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Series Specifications

Both models boast an 11.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 3.2K, reaching up to 800 nits in brightness and offering a refresh rate of 144Hz. These displays support full DC dimming, HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

Both tablets feature a Matte edition with an AG texture coating that reduces reflections by up to 70%. They are equipped with quad speakers enhanced by Dolby Atmos, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a robust 9,200mAh battery. The Pad 8 supports fast charging at 45W, while the Pro version offers faster charging at 67W.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, coupled with up to 12GB RAM and storage options up to 256GB. In contrast, the Pro model features the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with up to 16GB RAM and storage capacity reaching up to 512GB.

Camera specifications differ between the two models as well. The standard Pad 8 includes a rear camera of 13MP and an 8MP front sensor. Meanwhile, the Pad 8 Pro boasts a superior setup with a rear camera of 50MP and a front-facing unit of 32MP.

In terms of design, both tablets share identical dimensions at a thickness of just 5.75mm and weigh approximately 485g each. They operate on HyperOS 3 based on Android version 16. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, support for 5G networks, and Bluetooth version 5.4.

Pricing Details for Xiaomi Pad 8 Series

The Xiaomi Pad 8 is priced at CNY 2,199 (roughly ₹27,350) for the base 8GB/128GB model. Moreover, the Pad 8 also comes in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB configurations that cost CNY 2,499 (roughly ₹31,100) and CNY 2,799 (roughly ₹34,850), respectively.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is priced at CNY 2,799 (roughly ₹27,350) for the base 8GB/128GB model. Moreover, the Pad 8 Pro also comes in 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/512GB configurations that cost CNY 3,099 (roughly ₹35,850), CNY 3,399 (roughly ₹42,300), CNY 3,699 (roughly ₹46,050), and CNY 3,899 (roughly ₹48,500), respectively.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 comes in Black, Turquoise Green, and Ice Crystal Blue shades. However, the Matte edition for the Xiaomi Pad 8 starts from CNY 2,699 (₹31,750). The Matte edition for the Xiaomi Pad Pro starts from CNY 3,599 (roughly ₹44,800). The Xiaomi Pad 8 series is expected to make its debut in India in Q1 2026.
