Xiaomi Android 16-Based HyperOS 3 Rolling Out in October: Check List of Eligible Devices, Key Features, More

Xiaomi has introduced HyperOS 3, a new user interface built on Android 16, during its September 2025 launch event. This update brings advanced AI features to Xiaomi devices. The upcoming Xiaomi 17 series will come with HyperOS 3 pre-installed, while older models will receive it through an OTA update.

HyperOS 3 Key Features

The HyperOS 3 update introduces HyperIsland, a feature similar to Apple's Dynamic Island. It displays important notifications and allows users to track live activities directly from the home screen. This feature is designed to enhance multitasking on Xiaomi phones by showing charging speed and other vital information.

HyperAI, part of the new interface, offers AI writing tools like smart screen recognition and DeepThink mode. Users can modify the style and tone of text messages and emails using HyperAI. Additionally, AI Speed Recognition improves audio quality, provides real-time transcription, and generates summaries from audio files.

With AI Search integrated into HyperAI, users can summarise search results and find on-device content easily. It also provides AI-generated answers to specific queries. The Gallery Search feature helps locate images within ten categories such as food and landscape.

The update includes AI Dynamic Wallpapers and an AI Cinematic Lock Screen feature. These allow users to transform still images into dynamic wallpapers. Xiaomi has also redesigned the home screen with this Android 16-based update.

HyperOS 3 Rollout Schedule

The rollout of HyperOS 3 will begin in October. Devices like the newly launched Xiaomi 15T Pro, Xiaomi 15T, Watch S4 (41mm), and Smart Band 10 will have it pre-installed. In October and November, the Xiaomi 15 series, Mix Flip, Redmi Note 14 series, Poco F7 series, and Poco X7 series will be among the first to receive the OTA update.

By November's end, devices such as the Xiaomi Pad Mini and Pad Mini 7 series will also be updated. Later in November and December, updates will reach the Xiaomi 14 series along with Redmi Note 13 Pro, Redmi 15, and Redmi 14C models.

Older models like the Xiaomi 13 series, Redmi Pad Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 14 series are scheduled for updates by March 2026. This ensures that even older devices benefit from the latest Android-based interface enhancements.

Xiaomi's introduction of HyperOS 3 marks a significant step in integrating advanced AI features into its devices. With a focus on improving user experience through enhanced multitasking capabilities and visual aesthetics, this update aims to keep Xiaomi at the forefront of smartphone innovation.
