Motorola Book-style Foldable Rumored to Launch This Year: Will It Challenge Apple’s iPhone Duo

Motorola's next foldable could be more than another Razr flip phone. A fresh leak suggests the company is preparing a wider book-style device, internally called Razr Flex, with a compact footprint and flagship-grade hardware aimed at buyers who want a foldable that is easier to carry.

The name is not confirmed for launch. Reports claim Razr Flex is an internal product name, while Parker is the codename. Motorola has already teased a wider foldable, but the company has not announced final specifications, pricing or market availability.

According to a report by Android Headlines, Motorola's upcoming foldable will feature a wider inner display and a compact, rounded design. The leaked mock-ups show a horizontal camera module with two large camera rings on the rear. The phone is tipped to measure 12.6mm when folded and weigh approximately 215g.

The device is expected to feature a 6.92-inch OLED inner display with a 1,728 × 2,364 pixel resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The cover screen could measure 4.97 inches and offer a 1,736 × 1,140 pixel resolution. The handset is also tipped to arrive in Pantone Coriander and Pantone Dark Botanical Garden colour options.

Power may come from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The unusual part is storage. The leak claims Motorola may offer only one storage variant, which could matter to users who shoot a lot of video or keep large apps offline.

The phone is said to measure 110 x 149 x 5.8 mm when open and 110 x 76 x 12.6 mm when folded. At 215g, it would sit in a relatively manageable weight class for a wide foldable. A 5,000mAh battery and 25W wireless charging support are also listed.

The camera setup reportedly includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera and two 32MP selfie cameras, one for each display. Other expected details include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP48 and IP49 protection ratings, Android 17 out of the box, and Pantone Coriander and Pantone Dark Botanical Garden colours.

If the rumours are accurate, Motorola's upcoming book-style foldable could be an excellent alternative to the likes of the iPhone Duo and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, both of which demand premium prices. The reported mid-December launch window means official confirmation may not be far away, but buyers should treat these details as unverified until Motorola makes the device public.
