Motorola Edge 40 Pro Launched: Premium Android Smartphone With SD8+ Gen 2, 12GB RAM
Motorola has launched the Moto Edge 40 Pro. The premium Android smartphone packs Qualcomm's current flagship SoC, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, and much more.
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro is the successor to the Motorola Edge 30 series smartphones. Let's look at all the available details of the Edge 40 Pro, which could land in India soon.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro Specifications, Features
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro features a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ curved P-OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The 1080p screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 395PPI. The display hides an under-display fingerprint scanner and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that powers the Edge 40 Pro is paired with the Adreno 740 GPU. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be sold with 12GB of LPPDR5x RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 internal storage.
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro features a triple rear camera setup headlined by a primary 50MP camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and OIS. There's another 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 114-degree FoV and a 12MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom and f/1.6 aperture. The punch hole in the display houses the 60MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.
Motorola has embedded a 4,600mAh battery within the Motorola Edge 40 Pro that supports 125W fast charging. The smartphone also supports 15W wireless charging and 15W reverse charging. Motorola claims it has used an 11-layer cooling system for improved heat dissipation.
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro features Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7 ready, Dual SIM, and USB-C 3.2 port. The device has dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos quad-mic.
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has IP68 water and dust resistance. It runs My UX 4.0 OS, based on Android 13.
Motorola Edge 40 Pro Price, Availability
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro seems to be a rebranded version of the Motorola Moto X40 launched in China last December. However, Motorola has chosen to offer the top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage outside of China.
Motorola has priced the Edge 40 Pro smartphone at 899.99 Euros (approx. ₹81,000). When Motorola launched the Moto X40 in China, the 12GB + 256GB variant was priced at CNY 4,299 (₹51,000).
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has been launched in Europe and will soon make its way to Latin America. The premium Android smartphone may arrive in India in the second or third quarter of this year.
