Lightweight Design And Comfort
The Headphone (a) features a relatively lightweight design, weighing 310 grams.
It uses breathable memory foam ear cushions, which are designed to improve comfort during longer listening sessions.
The overall look follows Nothing’s signature industrial aesthetic, which has become a recognizable part of the brand’s product lineup.
Adaptive Noise Cancellation And Calls
The headphones include Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). According to the company, this system can automatically adjust the level of noise cancellation depending on the surrounding environment.
For voice calls, the device uses a three-microphone Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) setup. The system is designed to focus on the user’s voice while reducing background noise during calls.
Nothing has also added Static Spatial Audio, which aims to create a surround-like listening experience when playing audio.
Physical Controls And Companion App
The headphones use a physical control system built into the earcups.
These controls include:
- Roller for adjusting volume
- Paddle for switching modes or navigating tracks
- Button for additional actions
The Button also supports Channel Hop, allowing users to switch quickly between apps or functions.
It can also act as a camera shutter trigger, letting users capture photos or start videos on a paired smartphone remotely.
Audio settings and customization options can be managed through the Nothing X companion app.
Battery And Charging
Battery life is one of the key highlights highlighted by the company.
The Headphone (a) is claimed to deliver up to 135 hours of playback, which Nothing says is equivalent to about five days of listening on a single charge.
The headphones also support fast charging, where five minutes of charging can provide up to five hours of playback.
Additionally, the device carries an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance.
