Apple Intelligence Releasing in India Tonight: Check Best Features and Supported iPhones, iPads, Macs

The eagerly anticipated Apple Intelligence is set to debut today, with the launch expected at 10:30 PM IST. This innovation, introduced during WWDC 2024, will be available alongside the iOS 18.1 update. Initially, it will be accessible on select devices like the iPhone 15 Pro models and the iPhone 16 series. Last week, Apple hinted at significant announcements for this week.

Apple's Greg Joswiak teased on X with a post saying, "Mac your calendars!" Bloomberg's Mark Gurman had earlier forecasted that iPhone users would receive iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence on October 28. Reports indicate that the rollout in India is scheduled for 10:30 PM today.

Apple Intelligence Features

This week marks the first release of Apple Intelligence features. While not all features will be available immediately, some are expected to arrive today, with others being released throughout 2025. Among these features is a writing tool designed to proofread texts for spelling and grammar errors. It can also adjust word choice and sentence structure while offering tone options like Friendly, Professional, and Concise.

The Photos app will see enhancements too. Users can create Memory Movies by simply describing a scene such as "My cat in 2024" or "Orlando in the summer." The app will automatically select matching photos and music but allows further customisation through Memory Mixes or mood settings.

Enhanced Siri and Notifications

A revamped Siri interface is part of Apple's updates this month. Although not all features will be included in this update, Siri's new UI will illuminate all edges rather than just one part. Additional elements using Apple Intelligence are expected later.

Apple Intelligence will also prioritise notifications by analysing them and highlighting the most important ones in a new Priority Notifications section. Longer notifications or groups of multiple notifications will be summarised as well. This feature integrates with Focus Modes to minimise interruptions by ensuring only crucial notifications are delivered.

Upcoming Features for Indian Users

In India, Apple's advanced AI capabilities are slated for a 2025 release as part of updates for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 on compatible devices. Initially supporting Indian English, this release follows the US English version planned for late 2024. No confirmed date exists yet for additional localised language options beyond Indian English; however, Apple plans to expand language support gradually over time.

This update aims to enhance user experience with updated Siri, on-device AI tools, and multimedia editing functions offering new contextual and personalisation options. A Clean Up tool similar to Android's Magic Eraser is also coming soon. This feature allows users to remove unwanted elements from images without affecting the main subject.
