|

The deadly battle of mobile operating system (OS) has unquestionably spiced up with the arrival of BlackBerry 10. Although, at present only two leading mobile OS, made consumers nostalgic - a real beauty with practicality behind it -iOS 6 and another one is the champion of masses - Google's very own Android mobile OS.

But, that's not all, slowly and gradually Windows Phone 8 is also gaining a little bit momentum these days, thanks to the goodness of -Nokia Lumia 920. Although just recently, the old warrior - which was dwarfed with the rise of newer platforms - last week celebrated its come back with the announcement of the successor, BlackBerry 10 (BB10).

It's not an easy job to choose a right mobile OS, after all, it is all about a wise decision. A hell lot goes while choosing almost perfect mobile OS. Starting with selection of the right device, a modest app selection and connectivity options, lastly to check whether the mobile OS is intuitive or not.

But Gizbot is again here to make it simple to decide, which one is best for you. Hence, let the battle begin by placing four top notched mobile OS in hot boiling water.

BlackBerry 10

So, finally, the Canadian - based firm launched their last hope in the form of BB10. Well, did BB10 actually made consumers laugh or did it really pass the test? The answer to the question still needs to be answered by consumers itself. Reason being, BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 are not available in the market. But, how does the mobile OS works, which is out already out there?

Considerably, the new OS by BlackBerry is absolutely stunning, indeed and it looks great. There are certain things which make this mobile OS looks apart from its core competitors.

The main objectivity of using any mobile OS is the ease of use, and the comfort level it carries along with it. The BB10 supports gesture control, and on the top of it make users a difficult experience in the first place. That does not mean you cannot master it. BB10 consists of a notification centre known by the name of BlackBerry HUB.

But, the approach is novel and it failed to exhibit. Overall, the User Interface (UI) is rather clean and user - friendly to some extent. Talking about the keyboard experience; it is the not over -the - top experience, but a way better than Jelly Bean or iOS.

But, you will be rather dejected with the app selection. Even after announcing a massive selection of apps (a whooping 70,000), sadly there are few selected apps which are worthy.

iOS 6

Apple is an old player in the mobile OS world, but it is being questioned nowadays, as its counterpart i.e. Android has received a platinum status from consumers worldwide. As per early browsing tests, BB10 has actually made iOS 6, a kind of joke. Still, it is the best mobile OS made till date. In nutshell, Apple's OS, is great and an alluring mobile OS. Even the app selection from the Apple's App Store is superb, but it has lost its charm. The mobile experience is not same citing sharp fall in the overall satisfactory decline rate among users. The mobile fiasco is still talk of town in the tech world. The neatness found in the BB10 is absent from iOS 6.

Android Jelly Bean 4.2

Android is the king when it comes to sharpness in any mobile OS. The biggest hooker towards Jelly Bean 4.2 is that one can resize widgets. Now, Google officially supports Chrome as its default browser. So, it will give a decent performance on small screen size. The performance has vastly improved when compared to Jelly Bean 4.1.

Windows Phone 8

Last but not the least it's time to open up your window. In this competitive mobile OS war Microsoft is placing its cards very carefully. After teaming up with former World's No.1 mobile maker, the software giant has come up with a vivid and quite radical mobile OS.

WP8 is different, really different, from what you have seen till now. Unlike other mobile OS, there is fluidity present in the WP8. The kind of experience you get on WP8 device is priceless; Credit - Metro Live Tiles. The glossy colorful layout of interchangeable tiles is really eye- watery, and even practical.

But, the new mobile OS also comes with a lot of impending issues. For instance, thin app selection being one of them. And WP8 pales when compared to Android Jelly Bean.

Conclusion

After giving an outline - What to expect from our current mobile OS or even from future mobile OS; the choice is heavily dependent upon the type of usage on a regular basis.

Each of these mobile OS has certain drawback as well as plus points. For instance, Windows Phone 8 connects with Windows OS in general. Apple has surely made a point with iOS 6. It has created an ‘Eco-System', and will ripe benefits till last. Android looks so good with only smartphones, but when comes to tablet thing- the bubble bursts into tears.

The choice of devices (hardware) is utter important these days. Apple controls its dominant territory by offering only iPhone. Android is an open platform with maximum choice to choose from including the hot seller Samsung Galaxy S3.

WP8 is not mature like Android, but offers a decent killer device in the form of Nokia Lumia 920. The coming of PureView technology is a blessing. However, with the arrival of BlackBerry 10 things could be better for true BB fans. The company is now gushing with a smile in the form of already announced BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10.
