Facebook Home Beta App Leaked Online: Official Launch On April 12
Last week, Gizbot reported about the grand event where, HTC and Facebook together unwrapped HTC First, the first Android smartphone to feature Facebook Home. Armed with Facebook Home Android Launcher, the brand new phone was informed to bring content including photos and updates from your newsfeed, notifications, Chat Heads and more on to your home screen.
The app of the new customised mobile operating system is expected to be made available on selected Android devices and launch on Google Play on April 12. For, now the Beta version of the same has been leaked online.
According to The Verge, the app can be installed to Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 7 tablet and few other devices. However, there is no news on which, these other devices are.
Since the app is still in per-release stage, Facebook's new "Chat Heads" feature is said to be not working, at the moment. Also, it only supports devices with a maximum supported resolution of 1280 x 768.
You will not be required to root your phone in order to install the Beta app. Modaco have posted instructions on how to install the app. However, the app is quite unstable and it is recommended that you wait till April 12, so you can install the official app. Meanwhile, you can watch the video preview of Facebook Home features, posted by The Verge.
