iOS 18.2 May Bring ChatGPT-Enhanced Siri, Image Playground, Genmoji, and More AI Features
Apple is gearing up to launch the iOS 18.2 update, which promises to expand Apple’s AI capabilities in meaningful ways. This new release, expected as early as December, will feature ChatGPT integration within Siri, a creative Image Playground app, and Genmoji—a tool for generating custom emojis.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iOS 18.2 update could arrive in the first week of December, delivering some of the most anticipated Apple Intelligence features.

AI-Powered Siri with ChatGPT Integration
One of the major highlights of the iOS 18.2 update is ChatGPT integration with Siri, allowing Apple’s voice assistant to respond with greater detail and context. Users will be able to directly ask Siri for ChatGPT-powered responses, making it more versatile for information retrieval and personalized assistance.
For those with paid ChatGPT subscriptions, the integration also allows access to advanced AI models, providing enhanced responses for those who rely on Siri for more complex tasks.
New Creative Tools: Image Playground and Genmoji
With iOS 18.2, Apple is introducing Image Playground, a unique app designed to generate images based on text prompts, similar to popular generative AI tools. Users can create custom visuals, adding a new layer of creative potential directly from their iPhone.
Alongside this, the update will bring Genmoji, a tool that allows users to design personalized emojis based on text descriptions. These custom images and emojis can be easily shared through apps like Messages, Notes, and Keynote, making creativity more accessible to iPhone users.
Image Wand: Transforming Sketches with AI
The Image Wand feature, included in the iOS 18.2 update, adds another layer of functionality to Apple’s ecosystem. This tool will enable users to turn basic sketches into fully-rendered images using AI. Integrated within the Notes app, Image Wand is perfect for quick ideas or brainstorming sessions, transforming rough concepts into refined visuals without needing advanced drawing skills.
Expanded English Support and Additional Features
iOS 18.2 will also extend Siri’s language capabilities beyond American English, adding support for English dialects from regions like the U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Additional features in the update include a “Default Apps” section in Settings, offering more control over app preferences, and daily Sudoku puzzles for Apple News+ subscribers in the U.S.
Furthermore, users in Australia will gain access to a new iMessage nudity reporting tool, supporting Apple’s commitment to user safety.
