One of the most popular digital GPS navigation and location based service provider MapmyIndia has announced its latest and major enhancements to its free maps portal. The company has revamped the portal completely and now features richer map data with connected and interactive options like real-time traffic updates, Social media interface, enhanced user interface, drag and drop direction markers to customize routes, Widgets etc.

The company which has already released a number of apps for Android users as well has been doing pretty well in the navigation service providing business. MapmyIndia is available across other platforms like iOS, Windows, Windows 8 and HTML5 browsers as well.

This time around the best part brought about in the portal are the interactivity and social media interface. This means that the MapmyIndia users will now have access to real-time traffic information. Currently the service is only available for India's two metro cities with largest vehicle population i.e Delhi (NCR) and Mumbai.

Also you will find an interactive social navigation features like Add/Edit a place, write review and maintain private atlas. Also, it has been integrated to the social media apps like Explore, Facebook and more. Moreover, the fine integration of search with visual feedback will also allow users to instantly locate points of interests.

Talking about the UI of MapmyIndia, it looks a lot flatter and will now allow users to zoom in and out of maps easily. You can also customize mapping by dragging and dropping direction markers on the maps. While the embedding feature has also come up this time which means that you can embed not just the maps but also driving directions, and search nearby features onto your websites and blogs.

The flat UI (User Interface) enables speedier access and seamless zooming in and out of the maps. Users can quickly survey any location with the desired level of intensity.
