Windows 11 Insider Update Brings iPhone Integration Directly from the Start Menu
Microsoft has revealed that Windows 11 users can now access iPhone features directly from the Start menu, a capability previously available only for Android devices. This enhancement builds on the Windows 11 2024 update, which introduced a side panel in the Start menu for Android phone integration. Now, iPhone users can enjoy similar functionalities.
To connect your device, open the Start menu and select either Android or iPhone from the right-side panel. Follow the on-screen instructions to link your device with your PC swiftly. Once connected, iPhone users can view their phone's battery status, check connectivity, access messages, make or receive calls, and monitor recent activities directly from the Start menu.

File Sharing Features
The update also includes file-sharing capabilities between Android or iPhone devices and Windows PCs. Users can initiate transfers by selecting "Send files" from the Start menu. This feature was initially previewed in December and is now fully integrated into the system.
To manage these features, navigate to Settings > Personalization > Start. Ensure you have Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 4805 or higher in the Beta Channel or Build 26120.3000 or higher in the Dev Channel. Additionally, Phone Link version 1.24121.30.0 or a later version must be installed on your PC.
Compatibility Requirements
Your PC needs to be signed into a Microsoft account and should support Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) for these features to function properly. However, it's important to note that these updates are not available for PCs running Pro Education or Education SKUs.
The new features are currently being rolled out to Windows Insiders in both the Dev and Beta Channels. A wider release for all Windows 11 users is anticipated in the coming months.
