Microsoft Brings AI-Powered Live Captions to Intel and AMD Copilot Plus Laptops
Microsoft is bringing its AI-powered real-time translation feature to a broader audience. Initially limited to Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, the feature now extends to Intel and AMD devices with the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build.
The update allows users to translate spoken audio from over 44 languages into English subtitles. Whether it's a conference call, a YouTube video, or a podcast, the feature helps break language barriers and makes content more accessible.

Expanding Live Captions to Intel and AMD Devices
Previously exclusive to Snapdragon-based PCs, the real-time translation feature is now available on Intel and AMD chipsets, offering a wider range of users access to this AI-driven tool. Users need to set their device language to English to enable the feature. Currently, it only supports translations into English and does not translate from English to other languages.
Supported languages include Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and more. The translated audio appears as subtitles at the bottom of the screen, making it a practical tool for a variety of situations, from professional meetings to casual media consumption.
Enhancements for Snapdragon Users
Microsoft has also updated the translation feature for Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. In addition to translating audio into English, it now supports translations into Simplified Chinese, further enhancing its utility for users in multilingual environments.
Updates to the Recall Feature
The update also brings improvements to the Recall feature, which allows users to capture snapshots of their activity and revisit specific moments. The feature can be enabled or disabled through the "Turn Windows features on or off" settings. If users encounter issues with saving snapshots, Microsoft recommends a quick system reboot to resolve the problem.
Rollout Details
Currently, these features are available exclusively to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel, with broader availability expected in the future.
